Free Movie Viewing

October 23, 2010

I was just looking at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Library website and noticed on their calendar of events:

October 30th, join us for the 2010 animated tale about a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons, as he becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed. Rated PG, 98 minutes.
The Eastgate Library will show free family-friendly films on select Saturdays at 2:30 pm. All movies are rated G or PG, and are open to the public. Snacks and drinks in closed containers are permitted in the movie room.

But, alas, this is the same day as the Cemetery Stroll.  Why do two good events happen at the same time?!?

Win Tickets to Disney on Ice

October 19, 2010

I was looking through the Sunday newspaper (Chattanooga Times Free Press) and on the first page of the Life section, they had a little blurb about winning tickets to Disney On Ice:

Would your family like to win free tickets to the opening night of Disney on Ice:  Princess Classics on October 27 at McKenzie Arena?  The show’s promoters are looking for a kid, age 8 – 12, to write a performance for Chattamoms.com.  To enter the contest, a child should write, in 150 words or less, why they would be perfect for this duty.  E-mail the short essay to Lisa Denton at ldenton at timesfreepress.com by midnight Wednesday.  The winning family will be notified by email by Friday.  The child’s review of the opening night show will be due by 6 p.m. on October 28.
